I offer my strongest recommendation for Solutions2 Low-Voltage located in Milner, Georgia if you're looking for a low voltage professional installation. If you're skeptical of Matt Bussell's fifty-one 5-Star Google reviews (as of 26 Apr 2022), do not be. They are well deserved and fully representative of his pride, experience and capability in the low-voltage trade. Below is a detailed description of my experience with him.
Matt and his team (especially Richard) are exactly what I hoped to find when I started seeking out a company to prewire my new construction home in Fayette County, GA. I found him through a Google search. I wanted some 5.1 audio prewiring to at least two locations and a "home-run" network of structured computer wiring to provide wired data connections throughout the house as well as wired camera connections and various viewing options. I also wanted to ensure strong wireless internet service in all home locations.
Matt expertly guided me through all the potential solutions to my requirements. He asked excellent questions before carefully crafting a recommended plan for needed equipment as well as cabling types, numbers and locations. Throughout the build, he kept me well informed of progress and recommended plan changes/improvements before executing them. I always knew where we were in the process, what it was costing and when the next step would be completed. I cannot say this about anyone else involved in my home build.
His experience makes him very good at anticipating and avoiding potential conflicts with the other building trades. Because computer wires are vulnerable to many construction threats, he neatly and carefully managed the wiring paths and installed several layers of protection where prudent. If a network of computer wiring can be called beautiful, the product he provided fits the description. Several visitors and other sub-contractors marveled while asking, "Who did this computer wiring?"
With the goal of creating a wiring network that provides lasting flexibility, Matt identified a few portions of my home where future cabling additions/replacement will be impossible without significant drywall removal (vaulted ceilings, low-clearance locations, etc.). He recommended a few extra back-up cables to these locations as insurance against unforeseen circumstances (rodents, manufacturing defects, nail damage, etc.). Matt also highlighted the areas with accessible attic space that can more easily be altered in the future if needed. I will add that I never perceived any effort by Matt to unnecessarily add scope increases to the work description. In fact, there were several beneficial additions he made without adding cost because I believe he perceived it was "the right thing to do."
In summary, I'm extremely pleased with the work Solution2 provided. The result is a well-designed central wiring system with nearly 100 carefully considered cables neatly organized in a very accessible metal computer cabinet. Two 48-port Power Over Ethernet (POE) switches provide power to all data jack locations through the ethernet lines. Multiple Wireless Access Points (WAP) provide seamless wireless continuity. Twenty camera locations are easily viewed and controlled from selected TV sites as well as via mobile access. Each line was thoroughly tested and a complete test report was provided reflecting the results.
Finally, no useful review is complete without a cost discussion. In total, Matt's cost was very close to 4% of the house build (excluding land). My research suggests you can certainly find individuals willing to "run wire" for a lower cost. Most builders will offer "pre-wiring" through their electricians but a quick scan of Matt's reviews will show you how often he is called to remedy broken promises from other vendors or builders. One of the hardest things I found to discern regarding all the sub-contractors I researched in this 14-month COVID-era build is their value. Prices are high everywhere but I am certain I received an excellent value. If you want someone who will help you tailor a network to your needs and you want confidence that it will be done professionally, Matt and his team are an excellent choice. I'm also confident that when I have future questions or need help with this system, Matt's ongoing service will be just as professional.
